Though some industrial-grade compressors are portable, many are stationary units with large-capacity, ASME certified air tanks (up to 120 gallons), greater HP, more CFM air volume and faster recovery time to run a wide variety of air tools for as long as you need them to do the job.

What kind of Air Compressor should I get?
I want to buy an air compressor to power my tools. It needs to power various impact wrenches (1/2 inch drive), air ratchets, impact hammer, grinder, shears. And no, it does not need to power them at the same time (haha, just in case some of you are hinking that). But i need to know how many horsepower and what gallon.
A 1 h.p. 5 gallon won't do it if you want to take off more than 1 lug nut! I've got a 6 h.p. 60 gallon compressor that work very well. It's a Craftsman oil less that I've had for years. Since I got lay-ed off, I'm working out of my garage. I'm glad I have this compressor! The only bad thing about it is it's loud! Wait for Sears to put them on sale. I don't know how much they are anymore, but it will be worth the wait! Good Luck!
